by Ben Killen on August 14th, 2006

Collecting Scouting Literature-A Collector's Guide to Boy Scout Fiction and Non-Fiction
Its great to be back from the Trade-O-Ree and NOAC. We meet so many people and had such a great time! Thanks to everyone that stopped by the table or said hello.

This week, Ben and Tim interview Chuck Fisk–an expert on Scouting literature and Scout books. In addition to many wonderful stories, Chuck shared with us parts of his book:

Collecting Scouting Literature-A Collector’s Guide to Boy Scout Fiction and Non-Fiction
by Chuck Fisk and Doug Bearce, 2nd edition published in 1990

This book has a complete listing of each printing of Boy Scout, Scout Master, and Patrol Leader Handbooks. Also included are sections of the book of Baden-Powell, Beard, Seton as well as a large section of fiction about the scouting movement. There is a check list of cubbing literature, senior scouting, scouting histories, scout diaries, scout related comics, etc, etc.

If you would like to purchase a copy for yourself, contact:
Doug Bearce — P O Box 4742 — Salem, OR 97302. 503-399-9872
Email: bearce@prodigy.net
Price: $20.00 (shipping included).

More to come from our trip to NOAC on ClothTalk, bringing you the history of Scouting through collectables.
