Coosa Lodge #50 is the Order of the Arrow Lodge associated with the Greater Alabama Council #1 of the Boy Scouts of America and is headquartered in Birmingham, AL. It is the result of a merger (effective January 1, 2000) between Cherokee Lodge #50, Achunanchi Lodge #135, and Kaskanampo Lodge #310.
Coosa Lodge is a member of Section SR-6S, which they joined in 2002 after Section SR-8B was dissolved.

[edit] Chapter Leadership
Each Chapter is responsible for electing a Chapter Chief, a Chapter Vice Chief, and a Chapter Secretary.
[edit] Chapter Structure and Organization
Coosa Lodge is divided into Chapters, each of which meet monthly and are aligned with (and built to serve) the districts in the Greater Alabama Council.
For organizational purposes, Coosa Lodge is split into two service areas, the Northern Area and the Southern Area. Each Area elects and Vice Chief (to serve on the Lodge Executive Committee) and each Chapter elects a roster of officers (including a Chapter Chief, Chapter Vice Chief, and Chapter Secretary).

- Achtu Chapter serves the Mulberry District, which covers Blount and Cullman Counties in central Alabama.
- Etowah Chapter serves the Etowah District, which covers Etowah County in east-central Alabama.
- Kaskanampo Chapter serves the Talakto District, which covers Madison County in north-central Alabama, and is named in homage to Kaskanampo Lodge.
- Mountain Lakes Chapter serves the Mountain Lakes District, which covers Jackson and Marshall Counties northeast Alabama.
- Nischamawat Chapter serves the Arrowhead District, which covers Lawrence, Limestone, and Morgan Counties in north-central Alabama.
- Sequoyah Chapter serves the Sequoyah District, which covers Dekalb and Cherokee Counties in northeast Alabama.
- Yuchi Chapter serves the Westmoreland District, which covers Colbert, Franklin, and Lauderdale counties in northeast Alabama.

- Achunanchi District serves the Choccolocco District, which covers Calhoun and Cleburne Counties in east-central Alabama, and is named in homage to Achunanchi Lodge.
- Cahaba Chapter
- Cheaha Chapter serves the Cheaha District, which covers Clay, Talladga, and Randolph Counties in east-central Alabama.
- Cherokee Chapter is named in homage to Cherokee Lodge.
- Japeechen Chapter serves the Northeast District, which covers north Jefferson County and St. Clair County in central Alabama.
- Muscogee Chapter serves the Shelby District, which covers Shelby County in central Alabama.
- Nunne Hi Chapter serves the Vulcan District, which covers southeast Jefferson County in central Alabama.

Coosa Lodge hosts and participates in a wide variety of events each year.
[edit] Hosted by the Lodge
- Lodge Leadership Development Conference (LLDC), held each year in January or February to provide training for the year.
- American Indian Seminar (formerly known as the Spring Fellowship), held in March to participate in training and fellowship while the lodge prepares for the annual Conclave.
- Ordeal/Brotherhood Weekends, held three times throughout the summer as part of the induction process.
- Fall Fellowship Pow-Wow, held in the beginning of October to participate and training and fellowship while electing the next year's officers and inducting that year's class of Vigil Honor recipients.

- Section Conclave, held annually at one of the in-council camps in each Section.
- Section Leadership Gathering
- National Leadership Seminar
- National Order of the Arrow Conference, typically held every two years.
[edit] Other
- A Lodge Leadership Retreat is held a few weeks after each Fall Fellowship to give the new officers a change to get to know one-another, meet their advisers, and understand their new responsibilities.
- District Camporees are supported regularly by the Chapter assigned to that District.
- The drum and dance participants attend several Native American pow-wows throughout the year to hone their skills, learn from others, and enjoy some fellowship.
