Coosa Shows is the "marketing" name for the Shows Committee of Coosa Lodge, which is established as a regular operating committee whose chairman officially sits in on LEC meetings.

The committee documents each of Coosa Lodge's events (through audio, video, and photography) and uses those to create various montage and promotional videos throughout the year. Their cornerstone is Coosa's annual Fall Fellowship, where they typically present the Year-in-Review production and produce two new videos, from scratch, for the Saturday night show.

The origins of Coosa Shows lay in Mr. Mickey Morris and Dr. James Flatt, both members of the now-merged Kaskanampo Lodge 310, who provided multimedia support for the 1998 SR-8B Section Conclave. This ultimately culminated in the first official presentation of Coosa Shows during the 1999 Fall Fellowship, held at Comer Scout Reservation.

To date, Coosa Shows has created more than 50 video segments (ranging from 30-second commercial clips to 15-minute musical montages), created the new Greater Alabama Council Camp Promotions DVD (featuring five promotional videos for their two in-council resident camps), provided media support for the 2005 Alabama Encampment, and created a two-disc DVD set of their videos to sell as a fundraiser.

[edit] Training

With more than half a century of combined experience in multimedia production, the Shows team is always eager to share their knowledge and experiences with other teams in order to help them create better productions. In addition to hosting a three-hour training cell at the annual Coosa Lodge Leadership Development Conference, Coosa Shows has hosted training cells and workshops at NOAC and the SR-6S Conclave. They've also hosted several merit badge classes for the Cinematography and Photography merit badges.

[edit] Featured Productions

While the vast majority of Coosa Shows' work is designed for and targeted to the membership of Coosa Lodge, a few projects have been specifically developed to help other lodges with their programs.
