[edit] Historical information
The S3 was issued during the 25th anniversary of Kaskanampo Lodge, the same year Kaskanampo served as the Area V-E Conference host at Camp Jackson. The S3 was first sold at a lodge activity held on Redstone Arsenal (Saturn rocket development center), and then at the V-E Conference. It was a very popular flap with the other lodges in the Area that included much of Tennessee. The S3 and "Pig" patch (the name given to the Conference patch of that year) were considered a set, and both were manufactured by Midwest. The S3 sold out during the Conference, but some surfaced in 1973 and were sold and traded at the 1973 National Order of the Arrow Conference in Santa Barbara, California. Kaskanampo Lodge 310 was moved from Area V-E to SE-4A in 1973, so the S3 was the last patch issued by Kaskanampo in it's old Tennessee section. The S3 was also the last issue for many years that had the correct mussel shell (the lodge Totem) on the patch. The S3 is greatly valued by the members of the lodge due to tradition, and is among the toughest Kaskanampo patch to collect.
[edit] Errors and corrections
This flap is mistakenly called the S4 in Arapaho.
